May 8: Mother’s Day “Stroller Rally” to Support Maternity Leave

In December 2015, Gilary Massa, a member of CUPE 1281, was fired while on maternity leave. Please join us in taking action to support Gilary and defend the rights of new parents across the country. Supporters are coming together under the #IStandWithGilary campaign to demand Gilary’s reinstatement. You can help in the following ways:

  1. Attend the Mother’s Day Stroller Rally: Sunday, May 8, at 12pm (noon) at Yonge & Dundas Square. Give all mommas the perfect gift, come support Gilary and women’s right to maternity leave! Join our facebook event and invite your friends.
  2. Support on Social Media: Invite your friends to like the campaign. Tell Gilary’s bad bosses at the Ryerson Students’ Union (RSU) that they need to reinstate her now by joining our Thunderclap and tweeting at @RyeSU, @ObaidUllah98 @TamaraVJones, @VictoriaMMorton. And, join our phone call and tweet blitz on May 1 and 2.
  3. Volunteer: Help with outreach and other campaign tasks. Sign-up here and bring a friend.

On April 8, 2016, the OFL sent a letter to RSU President Andrea Bartlett. Click here to read the full letter.
