Celebrate International Women’s Day with women from across the province at a hybrid craft‑in rooted in the long tradition of women gathering to create, strategize, and build power together.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the OFL Women’s Committee, and we’re honouring that legacy through hands‑on creativity and collective conversation. Whether you knit, crochet, cross‑stitch, bead or want to learn, you’re invited to join us for an evening of craftivism inspired by the OFL’s Women Power Work campaign and the 50 Years of Women in the Ontario Labour Movement project.

On March 6, 2026, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30p.m., we’ll stitch, bead, weave and colour, while discussing the political and social justice issues shaping women’s lives and workplaces today. It’s a chance to connect, reflect, and build solidarity across generations and across Ontario.

RSVP and close to the event date you’ll receive:

  • A digital pattern of your choice designed for this event
(cross-stitch, crochet, knit, bead, or colouring page)
  • Instructions for your chosen craft
  • A materials list so you can prepare in advance

Note: Participants are responsible for purchasing their own materials.

Knitting and sewing circles have historically served as vital, unthreatening covers for women to organize, share political ideas, and execute revolutionary actions when they were otherwise excluded from formal politics. This practice is part of a legacy now often called craftivism.

Let’s honour the past, strengthen the present, and craft the future together.

Join the craft-in on March 6, 2026 and stitch in solidarity!

RSVP to get your pattern, save your spot and receive your materials list.

Feeling inspired?

We’ll be gathering in-person in Toronto and connecting with people virtually around the province. If you prefer an in-person experience but live outside of Toronto, why not organize a satellite craft-in circle gathering in your region and connect with us as a group, virtually?

Gather in your local community centre, library, union hall, wherever you can join together to craft and connect to the broader group virtually for interactive engagement and fun!
