Chances are, you’ve seen, heard, or delivered a land acknowledgement. But do you know the significance of land acknowledgements or the best practices for delivering them? Join the OFL’s First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Circle (FNMI), on June 21 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – National Indigenous Peoples Day – for Land Acknowledgements: Why do we do it?
Daniel Stevens, co-chair of the Ontario Federation of Labour FNMI Circle, a lecturer, private consultant on Indigenous reconciliation practices, secondary school teacher, and disabilities activist, will guide you through the history of land acknowledgments and provide insight on how to properly recognize traditional First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit territories.
