Mississauga Solidarity Rally for CUPE 966 – Friday, June 1 @ 1:00 pm

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Your support is crucial in helping the striking Human Services members of CUPE 966 get a fair contract from the Region of Peel. The big pink CUPE 966 Flying Squad bus has become one of the most visible and consistent features of every rally and picket line throughout the province. Now is the time for the labour movement to return the solidarity.

This is a local made up predominantly of women and workers of colour, who provide essential community services for the most vulnerable and marginalized in our society. They work in family and youth homeless shelters, provide employment assistance and training, process social assistant cheques, operate child care centres, help victims of violence, place people in subsidized housing, provide immigrant settlement services, and much more.

Help restore these vital services to the members of the Peel community by pressuring the Region of Peel to negotiate a fair contract that grants CUPE 966 equal treatment with other workers in the region.
