Phone Zap! Ontario is in crisis

Ontario workers are sounding the alarm.

Our province is facing its worst public health crisis since the COVID-19 pandemic began almost two years ago. Health care providers are describing it as a “full-blown emergency.” Schools aren’t equipped to protect students and education workers. Most Ontarians still don’t have access to paid sick days.

And the situation is getting worse with each passing day.

At every stage of the pandemic, Doug Ford’s government has failed to protect workers and keep our communities safe. It didn’t have to be this way.

Never attended a phone zap before? 

A phone zap is simple! We will gather online via Zoom with hundreds of workers from across the province. Together, we will call members of the Ford government and flood their voicemails with hundreds of messages demanding action. We will provide you with a script and phone numbers to make the calls. 

What we’re calling for:

• Recall the legislature for an emergency session
• Repeal Bills 124 and 195
• Legislate a minimum of 10 permanent, employer-paid sick days
• Hold an emergency summit of all stakeholders in the health care system
• Require health care and educational institutions to provide airborne precautions
• Launch an emergency public health campaign

You’ll hear from frontline workers in education and health care about the scale of the crisis we’re facing in workplaces and communities. We’ll also discuss plans to get ready to #VoteFordOut on June 2, 2022!
