The Ontario Federation of Labour, collaboratively with Justice for Migrant Workers (J4MW), UFCW, Migrant Workers Alliance, and Ryerson University, is pleased to host the first in a three-part webinar series which explores the experiences of agricultural migrant workers across the province.
Emcees, Ahmad Gaied, OFL’s Secretary-Treasurer, Felicia Samuel, Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario Provincial Executive Committee, and ONDP’s selected candidate for Scarborough-Rouge Park, will be joined by panelists who will share their lived work experiences and speak to the challenges and barriers faced.
This webinar series stemmed from the recent crisis in Windsor-Essex, where hundreds of workers contracted COVID, two died, and many others described the inhumane conditions (food, accommodations, etc.) they were expected to work in.
