At the reception we will share and learn about Two-Spirit, Trans, Non-Binary, Gender-Diverse, and Intersex peoples’ experiences of accessing health care services. A videographer will be on site to capture stories from those who are willing to have their personal stories recorded.
Following the reception we will pack Queen’s Park Visitor’s Gallery to watch the debate of Bill 42, the Gender Affirming Health Care Advisory Committee Act, and show our support for the passing of the bill which will improve access and coverage for gender affirming health care in Ontario.
By RSVPing to attend the reception and watch the debate, we can help you enter the building past security at the Visitor’s Entrance and provide any event updates.
What you need to know to enter the Legislature:
- Arrive a few minutes early to allow time for security screening.
- You will enter via the visitor’s entrance, directly left/east of the main doors of Queen’s Park (on the south side).
- Don’t bring any sharp or dangerous objects, as the screening is similar to airport security. Liquids are allowed.
- Banners, placards, or any other item of demonstration are not allowed in the building.
- Clothing or materials with political (including union logos or messaging) or offensive slogans are not allowed.
Bring government-issued photo ID - The name on your ID does not have to match the name you gave us. If you have not legally changed your name and/or gender marker to reflect how you present or the name you use, that is completely okay. Security should not ask any questions.
- When security asks for your name, please share the name that you used on the RSVP form so that they can find you on the list. Please use your preferred name on the RSVP form.
