Over a period of three workshops, Dr. Burford will train selected workshop facilitators on how to analyze the role that “race” and racism have played in the political, educational, and legal structures of Canadian society.
This three-part, train-the-trainer series launches during Black history month and will run until April. The first workshop will take place on Tuesday, February 28 @ 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.
We encourage any interested racialized workers to register today to learn the ideology behind Critical Race Theory, as well as the skills and techniques to facilitate interactive critical thinking workshops based on tried and tested methods of populous, equitable teaching and critical pedagogy.

About Natasha
Dr. Natasha Burford has been a teacher in the Toronto District School Board for over 16 years. For four years, she advocated for workers’ rights serving as a union executive with the Elementary Teachers of Toronto.
In 2020, Dr. Burford received her doctorate degree at the University of Toronto, and is currently a sessional lecturer at OISE in the Master of Teaching program.
Dr. Burford is a community advocate and has planned and implemented many neighbourhood projects throughout Toronto’s west end.
She is the founder of In Brilliant Company, a tech-tutoring organization, and also started her own women’s mentoring organization in 2006.
Educator, scholar, entrepreneur, mother of 3 amazing boys, and learner are all the titles that Natasha carries.
