Extreme heat is a growing threat, and it’s deadly. Ontario groups are mobilizing to protect seniors, tenants, workers, and children before the next wave hits.
For the past year, Seniors for Climate Action Now! (SCAN!) has brought together the Heat Collaborative, a network of organizations sharing information, strategies, and support to tackle extreme heat. The Ontario Federation of Labour and the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers have been active participants.
On April 15, OFL Preisdent Larua Walton will join this webinar to highlight how heat is affecting communities and working people across Ontario, how we’re fighting back, and what’s planned for the season ahead.
Speakers include:
- Laura Walton, Ontario Federation of Labour
- John Oudyk, OHCOW
- Flora Aldridge, Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health & Environment
- Lidia Ferreira, Community Resilience to Extreme Weather
- Jacqueline Wilson, Canadian Environmental Law Association
