Every year since 1984, the OFL has inducted five new names of retired or deceased trade unionists into the OFL Labour Honour Roll. This prestigious recognition is intended to acknowledge the significant contributions of individual OFL members to the life and growth of the trade union movement in Ontario. It is also intended to inspire current and future activists to dedicate themselves to the labour movement and the broader fight for progressive social change.
We are calling on OFL affiliates to submit nominations for this year’s OFL Labour Honour Roll. To be considered eligible, nominees must be former OFL members and trade union activists who are now retired or deceased. We welcome all nominations, but affiliates are encouraged to consider nominating individuals who reflect, promote and defend the diversity of our movement and who will be inspiring role models for generations to come. Click here for a list of past honourees.
All nominations must be submitted by an affiliate of the OFL. They must include the name and short biography for each nominee, as well as a letter explaining the significance of the nominee’s contributions to the broader labour movement. Nominees who were not selected in previous years may be re-submitted for consideration in subsequent years.
Please submit nominations to Judy Chow at jchow@ofl-org.flywheelsites.com, or by mail, 202-15 Gervais Drive, Toronto, ON M3C 1Y8. The deadline for receipt of nominations is no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018.
If you require more information, please contact Judy by email or phone at 416-443-7653. To view past inductees into the OFL Labour Honour Roll click here.
