– Workers have been negotiating with the employer for over a year.
– Workers are Personal Care Workers in the Supportive Housing Unit.
– Employer wants to reduce full-time workers’ paid sick days.
– Employer wants to give zero paid sick days to workers.
– Employer wants to change existing scheduling practices, disrupting work-life balance of the workers.
– Employer wants to keep part-time workers excluded from existing health and benefits plans.

Workers are on strike standing up for themselves and the safety of the residents of Villa Colombo by demanding paid sick days for all workers. Workers should not be forced to work while sick, nor penalized with lost wages for staying home while sick in the name of health and safety.
