The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 107 members have rejected the last offer from their employer, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR). As a result, they are on a legal strike of the HSR transit as of November 9th from 12:01 am.

Members were infuriated with HSR’s latest proposal as it falls short of inflationary pressures and the cost of living. ATU Local workers are frustrated with double digit increases of up to 15% going to highly paid Non-Union staff while offering transit workers a 3.2% increase that does not address the shortfalls to transit operators, administrative and skilled trades maintenance staff. ATU Local 107 members know their value, and know what transit workers face on the job and what they deliver to Hamilton – day after day.
