OFL stands in solidarity with AEFO

français

The Ontario Federation of Labour, its 54 affiliated unions, and labour councils stand in support and solidarity with the 12,000 members at Ontario’s 12 French-language school boards, as they take action to protect Ontario’s public education system from government cuts.

“The labour movement is unified in its support for ensuring a strong public education system that delivers quality education to the province’s Franco-Ontarian students. We stand alongside AEFO against mandatory e-learning, larger class sizes, and a reduction in course offerings that will be brought about by the government education cuts,” said Ontario Federation of Labour President Patty Coates.

AEFO is the fourth education union to begin job action against the government’s plans for education.

“The government must not impede the success of Franco-Ontarian students by making cuts to public education,” said OFL President Patty Coates. “The OFL will resist any effort by the government to degrade the quality of the Franco-Ontarian public education system.”
