OFL Young Workers’ Assembly ─ ‘Young Workers Rising’ (Nov. 23-24, 2013)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: Friday, Nov. 22

The OFL Workers Under 30 Committee will be hosting the first Young Workers’ Assembly on November 23 and 24, 2013, immediately preceding the 12th Biennial OFL Convention. This informative and instructive session is open to all young workers and will include a full day of educational sessions and discussion forums, followed by a morning of training for the convention ahead.

The Assembly will provide an opportunity for participants to get to know other young workers in Ontario’s labour movement, discuss relevant issues, share strategies and learn about convention protocols, policies and practices in order to effectively
participate and represent their members.

The Assembly will also provide an opportunity for the OFL Vice-President representing Young Workers an opportunity to hear and respond to the constituency they represent. The Assembly is open to both community and union activists.

Registration will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on November 23, 2013. The registration fee is $60.00 for participants. For further information please contact Paulette Hazel, OFL Staff at 416- 443-7667 or email phazel@ofl-org.flywheelsites.com. Please return the
completed form, together with a cheque payable to “OFL Young Workers’ Assembly” no later than November 15, 2013.

Hotel Arrangements
Participants are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. Guestroom rates are $215.00 single/double occupancy per room per night, plus taxes. This does not include parking. Reservations can be done through WE Travel, the official housing agent for the Ontario Federation of Labour. Child Care
It is OFL policy that we will provide child care services if more than ten (10) children are registered for this service. The Child Care Registration Form must be received by November 8, 2013 as we must make arrangements with the child care provider.

Personal Assistance Request Form
Accommodation can be provided for delegates with disabilities if advance notice is received. If services are needed, please complete and return the attached Personal Assistance Request Form by November 8, 2013.
