All Rise! – The People’s Court Will Judge Austerity (Sat. Sept. 15)

PSAC members know that an attack on public services workers is an attack on all Canadians.

Under this federal government, public services are being slashed and the workers who provide them are being declared “affected” and told they may lose their jobs.

This is not a government that believes in strengthening the services that Canadians depend on for their security and prosperity. The shroud of secrecy with which they have undertaken their reckless agenda of cuts is further proof that this government knows that what it is doing goes against the wishes of Canadians.

Public services are essential to the fabric of our communities. We need to come together to show that when federal government workers lose their jobs, they aren’t the only ones who are affected.

On Saturday, September 15th, 2012 all PSAC members across the country will stand together for public services for a national day of action.

In Toronto, PSAC will be holding a “People’s Court” at 1:00 pm at the Toronto Court House at 361 University Avenue (at Armoury St). We are placing the austerity agenda and our political representatives, including Harper, Hudak, McGuinty and Ford on trial for the sweeping cuts to public services communities rely upon.

Participate in the People’s Court, where community groups, labour unions and concerned citizens will discuss and decide on the fate of these politicians.

Other events are taking place around the province and the country.

Everyone depends on our public services, so we are all affected by these cuts.
