URGENT! URGENT! OFL MARCH UNDERWAY NOW TO ST. JAMES PARK
Labour movement amasses huge support for Occupiers under threat of midnight eviction
(TORONTO) -- Amidst cheers and shouts of solidarity, OFL convention delegates have just unanimously voted to march to St. James Park at 4:30 p.m. today in support of Occupy Toronto participants.
The march, led by OFL President Sid Ryan, leaves from the Sheraton Centre Hotel, 123 Queen St. West.
The appeal for solidarity came from two “Occupy” volunteers, Christie and Octavian, who told the more than 1500 union members gathered: “We are not quite finished changing the world yet; we won’t lose hope and we aren’t ready to shut up.”
Superior Court Justice David Brown’s ruling today upheld eviction notices issued last week by Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.
