OFL TO COMMENT ON TODAY’S ONTARIO BUDGET

(TORONTO) -- Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) president Wayne Samuelson will be available today after 4 p.m., to comment on the Ontario Budget. Samuelson will be at Queen’s Park and available by phone following the budget release.

Samuelson last week finished a six-city tour to meet with local leaders around the province and outline the action Ontario’s people and industries need from their government during the economic crisis. Samuelson visited cities hard-hit by job loss and industry turmoil: Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Kingston, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay.

An ‘Economic Plan that Works for Everyone’ includes investments Ontario needs to:

• Maintain Ontario’s industrial base by helping businesses survive the economic storm;

• Support public services when we need them the most;

• Deliver on the government’s promise to reduce poverty and provide relief to people who really need it; and,

• Invest in infrastructure to create jobs and put Ontario on a sustainable path.
