OFL statement on health of federal NDP leader Jack Layton

(STATEMENT) -- Federal NDP leader Jack Layton announced last week that he is battling prostate cancer. Always a friend to the labour movement and working families, he has countless friends across Canada to support him in his health challenge. Layton continues to fight for improvements on issues of importance: good pensions for all, improved Employment Insurance, meaningful pay equity, and anti-scab legislation. On behalf of the more than a million workers it represents, the OFL extends to Layton and his family sincere wishes for his complete and early recovery.
