(TORONTO) -- The Ontario Federation of Labour’s DRIVE TO WORK (DRV2WRK) is a province–wide tour to find out how the recession is really affecting people and communities. The Caravan will be launched from two points, Kenora and Oshawa on the 8th of June and finishes 17 days later in Toronto.

Along the way the OFL, affiliated unions, and community allies will talk with thousands of Ontarians and listen to what they say on the need to preserve and create good jobs and maintain strong public services for healthy communities.

“We want to listen,” says OFL president Wayne Samuelson who will be on the 3,000 km. caravan from its launch in Kenora. “We want to hear about how the thousands of job losses have affected people and their communities.

“After months and even years of calling on government to take action on what has really been happening across in Ontario, we have decided to launch the DRIVE TO WORK CARAVAN and travel the province gathering the stories, letters, ideas, videos and take the messages to the Premier.”

THE DRIVE TO WORK CARAVAN will travel to over 50 cities, with over 100 events planned.

It’s time to tell the stories behind the statistics. No one and no community is alone in this struggle.
