Canadian Actors’ Equity Association

Canadian Actors’ Equity is the professional association of performers, directors, choreographers, and stage managers in English Canada who are engaged in live performance in theatre, opera and dance.  The business of Equity is to negotiate and administer collective agreements, provide benefit plans, information and support, and act as an advocate for its membership.

Canadian Artists’ Representation / le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC)

CARFAC Ontario is the association of professional visual artists in Ontario.  Founded in 1968, CARFAC has worked for three decades on the legal and economic issues facing visual artists.  CARFAC believes that artists, like professionals in other fields, should be paid for their work and share equitably in profits arising from their art practice.  We provide the business tools that enable artists to manage their careers, and earn more money.

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees

IATSE is the labour union representing technicians, artisans and craftspersons in the entertainment industry, including film and television production and trade shows.

Mayworks

Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts festival that celebrates working class culture.  Founded in 1986 Mayworks’ goal is to promote the interests of cultural workers and trade unionists, and to bring working-class culture from the margins of cultural activity onto centre stage.

Toronto Musicians’ Association

The Toronto Musicians’ Association is a professional association of musicians in the Greater Toronto Area.  The TMA is part of the American Federation of Musicians of the U.S. and Canada, encompassing both countries.

Workers Arts & Heritage Centre

The Workers Arts & Heritage Centre preserves and celebrates the arts, culture and heritage of working people in Canada.  It is located in the historic Custom House in Hamilton, Ontario, but its activities reach across the country through travelling exhibits and research projects.
