Alliance of Cinema and Radio Artists (ACTRA)

ACTRA is a national organization of 18,000 Canadian performers working in the English-language media: Film, Television, video and all other recorded media.

Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU)

The Amalgamated Transit Union is the largest labour organization representing transit workers in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1892, the ATU, today, is comprised of over 175,000 members in over 273 local unions in 46 states and nine provinces. The ATU includes bus, subway, light rail and ferry operators, clerks, baggage handlers, mechanics and others in the urban transit, over-the-road, and school bus industries, as well as paratransit personnel, emergency medical technicians, clerical personnel and municipal workers.

Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union

COPE represents 34,000 workers in the public and private sector in a wide variety of workplaces, including crown corporations, insurance and power companies, banks, credit unions, trade union offices, transit operations, racetracks and other employees.

Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW)

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers represents 49,000 workers at Canada Post and 15 bargaining units in the postal, transportation and communication sectors.

Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE)

CUPE is Canada’s largest union with 485,000 members who work for school boards, hospitals, municipalities, universities, public utilities, homes for the aged, day-care centres, children’s aid societies, libraries, transit systems, emergency services and other publicly funded employers as well as members who work for private companies, including airlines.

The CAW is the largest private sector union in Canada, representing 250,000 workers in a wide range of industries.

CAW Local 2002

CAW Local 2002 represents approximately 10,000 workers across the country, in every province and territory employed in the airline and associated industries, including airlines, in-flight catering, airport operations and ground handling and pilots. Currently we have nine bargaining units in Ontario.

Central Ontario Building Trades

The Central Ontario Building Trades represents over 45,000 skilled trades men and women in Central Ontario.  It co-ordinates the efforts of the affiliated local unions to ensure that all workers in the construction industry receive fair wages and benefits.  The Council acts as the voice for construction workers in dealings with government, employers and the public.

Communications, Energy & Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP)

CEP represents workers in pulp and paper mills, telephone companies, in the oil, gas, chemical, mining and aerospace industries. CEP also represents printers, journalists, radio and TV broadcasters, graphic artists, hotel workers, computer programmers, truck drivers and nurses.

Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO)

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario represents 65,000 public elementary teachers and education workers across Ontario.

Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers International Union (GMP)

The GMP membership stands at 62,000 and represents workers in many lines of work in a broad scope of industries: fine china, glass and plastic containers, insulation to name a few.

Graphic Communications International Union (GCIU)

The GCIU is the largest union representing printing and publishing workers in North America.

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)

The IATSE is the labour union representing technicians, artisans and craftspersons in the entertainment industry, including, film and television production, and trade shows.

International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union

The current membership of the Ironworkers stands at approximately 140,000 with 15,000 apprentices. The ironworker’s union roots go back to the 1890s and its members work on outside projects erecting buildings and bridges and other related work.

International Association of Machinists in Canada (IAMAW)

The IAM in Canada is a union of more than 50,000 working men and women who share the common goals of justice on the job, security for the family and service to the community.

International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)

IBEW is comprised of approximately 780,000 members across the United States and Canada. IBEW members work in the industries that instal and maintain power to homes and businesses.

International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE)

IFPTE represents more than 75,000 men and women in professional, technical, administrative and associated occupations.

International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA)

The International Longshoreman’s Association is the largest union of maritime workers in North America, representing upwards of 65,000 longshoremen on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, Great Lakes, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico and Eastern Canada.

International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (Painters)

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades represents over 140,000 workers who are painters, drywallers, wallpaper hangers, glaziers, glass workers, carpet and soft tile installers, paint makers, sign makers, convention and show decorators, office workers and security guards.
