The Canadian Congress for Learning Opportunities for Women is a national, feminist organization dedicated to addressing education and training issues for girls and women. Our vision is women’s social, political and economic equality through expanded learning opportunities. Key focus areas are literacy, equity in education and job training.

Canadian Federation of Students - Ontario Office

Founded in 1981, the Canadian Federation of Students currently unites more than 450,000 college and university students across Canada through a cooperative alliance of over 60 students’ unions. Since 1926, the Federation and its predecessor organizations have been the voice of Canada’s student movement.

Confederation of Ontario Staff Associations & Unions

The Confederation of Ontario Staff Associations & Unions has a number of aims.  COUSA offers a forum to share information among non-faculty staff groups in Ontario universities, give assistance to each other and promote post-secondary education.

Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) represents 65,000 people teaching and working in public elementary schools in Ontario.

Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations

OCUFA seeks to maintain and enhance the quality of higher education in Ontario, and to advance the professional and economic interests of teachers, researchers, and librarians in Ontario universities. OCUFA works to ensure that the views of its member associations are communicated to government policy makers, the public, and those concerned with the quality and accessibility of post-secondary education.

Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers’’ Association (OECTA) represents 34,000 English-speaking men and women who teach in all grades in the publicly funded Roman Catholic schools in Ontario. It is affiliated with the Ontario Teachers’’ Federation, the Canadian Teachers’ Federation and Education International.

Ontario Federation of Home and School Associations

OFHSA speaks for members across Ontario. Input and concerns are communicated by individual Home & School Associations, Home & School Councils and Home & School Regions to the Board of Directors for action. Resolutions are presented by local members at the annual meeting of the Federation. Upon discussion and adoption, these resolutions become OFHSA policy. Federation responses represent the collective voice of members.

Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto

OISE/UT strives to be an effective, interactive learning community which, through research, scholarship, and excellent instruction, provides the theoretical knowledge base for education as a domain of advanced study and professional practice. OISE/UT is a centre of excellence for graduate studies, research, field development, initial and continuing teacher education in Ontario. It also is a central and integral part of the University of Toronto with collaborative programs, joint appointments and linkages to a variety of professional faculties and departments.

Ontario Public School Boards’ Association

The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) represents public district school boards and public school authorities across Ontario, which together serve more than 1.2 million public elementary and secondary students and more than a half-million adult learners. The Association advocates on behalf of the best interests and needs of the public school system in Ontario.

Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation

OSSTF/FEESO, founded in 1919, has 50,000 members across Ontario. They include public high school teachers, occasional teachers, teaching assistants, psychologists, office professionals, speech-language pathologists, social workers, maintenance personnel, attendance counselors and many others in education.

Ontario Student Trustees’ Association

OSTA-AECO promotes the unity without conformity of all affiliated Student Trustees in order to exercise effective student consultation and representation.

Ontario Teachers’ Federation

The Ontario Teachers’ Federation was set up by the Teaching Profession Act of 1944 as the professional organization for teachers in the province. All teachers (as defined in the Teaching Profession Act) are required to belong to the Federation as a condition of teaching in the publicly funded schools of Ontario.
