The Ontario Federation of Labour

It’s Time for Public Child Care Campaign

It’s Time for Public Child Care is a joint campaign by the Ontario Federation of Labour and Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC). The campaign will focus on the need for the Ontario government to:

• build a non-profit system that meets the needs of children, parents, workers and community;
• fund pay equity adjustments; and
• prevent corporate takeover of child care in Ontario.

The campaign would include media and public education events and local and provincial actions. This campaign is mandated by 2007 convention resolution and action plan.

The NDP has tabled legislation at both the federal and provincial level to stop corporate sector child care from accessing public funding.
