The Ontario Federation of Labour and the Fight for $15 and Fairness are co-hosting online decent work organizing meetings every 4 weeks.

The COVID-19 crisis has put a spotlight on the unacceptable wages and working conditions of the front-line workers who keep us fed, cared for, and protected. Whether we are farm workers or couriers, health workers or cleaners, security guards or garbage collectors, union or non-union workers — every single one of us deserves decent wages and working conditions, including paid sick days, health and safety, and proper protective equipment.

On Tuesday, July 21 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, please join the Ontario Federation of Labour and the Fight for $15 and Fairness for another online organizing meeting. We will assess our work so far and plan next steps. The protections we win today will lay the foundation for a decent work future for everyone.

Sign up to register for the meeting and receive the link to the online meeting.

The next online meeting is taking place on Tuesday, September 15 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You can register now and invite your co-workers and friends via Facebook.

We use these meetings to organize for:

  • Safe and healthy workplaces (Status for all workers; Employer-paid PPE; Social distancing at work and in all staff quarters; Employer-paid sick leave; Right to refuse unsafe work)
  • Employer-paid sick days for all (At least 7 paid sick days permanently, and an additional 14 days during health outbreaks)
  • Decent income for all (Extend CERB; Fix EI; Make pandemic pay permanent; Raise the minimum wage)
  • Strong communities (Food security; Affordable housing; Accessible public transit; Solidarity)

Save the dates! The next upcoming online organizing meeting is scheduled from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on: October 13.
