Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada
The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) will be holding an Equity & Justice Summit on November 17-18, 2017 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West, in Sheraton Hall E.
This Summit comes at a crucial time to stand up against the rising tide of hate speeches and actions. The Labour Movement has a long record of fighting against discrimination in all its forms. Since the election of Donald Trump and the murders in the Québec mosque, bigotry is emerging as a more potent force in our society, feeding the politics of division and hate.
The Summit will provide a safe space for participants to access workshops that will build on skills, tools and resources. A key component of the Summit is the closing plenary where participants will develop labour’s action plan “Creating Change.”
The Summit will also provide OFL Vice-Presidents representing, Aboriginal, LGBTQ*, Workers of Colour and Persons with a Disability an opportunity to hear and respond to the constituency they represent.
Registration will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17 and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18. The Summit registration fee is $200.00. Please return the completed form, together with a cheque payable to “OFL Equity & Justice Summit” no later than November 15, 2017.
